A Small Modicum Of Badassity I Want to share.

My wife and I just closed on our first house, and it will actually be a sight cheaper than the one we were renting thanks in LARGE part to the high efficiency boiler we'll be installing.  It also moved us into a better school district with daycare that is HALF the cost of the one we were using in our super expensive anti-mustachian town where we were before. also, all cars are debt free.

with that being said: we have officially reached a monthly expense level that only needs one of our incomes! whoo!!!

Its a nice feeling, knowing that my entire paycheck can be dedicated to annihilating our mortgage, and student loan debt.

Housing and transportation are often the two biggest drains on a household budget, followed closely by day care. 

Sounds to me like you have mastered the trifecta of money management.

That sounds awesome! As a mother of a little one in childcare, I know it can be hard getting the balance between the house you want with childcare nearby and decent (and for us, closeness to public transport). It's something we've got a long way to go with, as we still rent, but it's always great hearing from those who have achieved goals similar to ours - awesome!!

stick with looking for the right house. its the best thing we ever did. it took us TWO YEARS to find the right house, and now that we did I sit back almost every day and go "wow, this is a GREAT house"

Tis a thought bouncing around in the back of my mind for sure, but I'm more focused on the loans proper for now ^_^
