A different solution to takeaway coffee
« on: June 18, 2013, 06:41:20 AM »
I've been handing money over to coffee shops for a long time and it's been a hard one to cut out of the budget. I like my homemade coffee but, for some reason, bringing it in a flask doesn't do it for me. I finally realised that what I loved most about it was drinking fresh, hot coffee out of doors. That's one reason I loooove camping.

Smokers make the time to go outside throughout their day, year-round, to smoke, so why can't I do the same with my habit?

Now every morning I drag a stool outside to my small apartment patio and drink a hot cuppa. It is so hugely satisfying, even when it's rainy. I'll just have to keep a hat and coat nearby when it gets cold!

The entire family naturally congregates around me. I think they sense the pleasure of sitting in fresh air and relaxing for a few minutes. It rocks.

I think I'll take my tea outside today :-)

I really should sit outside more. I had a beer on my back deck after work on father's day, while my 16 month old daughter played with her water table pouring water on everyone feet. Not a bar I know of that can replace that experience.

My favorite scene in Tarkovsky's Solaris is when Kelvin sits outside in a rain storm.  (He is about to leave on a mission in space and knows this may be his last chance to do it.)

Beautiful.

i think i'm going to have to do this.  i work in what i lovingly refer to as the batcave....there are no windows at all.  outside would be nice, especially early before it gets hot and muggy

I think about doing this ALL. THE. TIME. We even have a back deck. But I never do it. I'm not sure why. Morning fresh air + hot cuppa coffee would probably equal me being more productive earlier in the day.

Thanks for reminding me that I need to do this. It does sound so relaxing and peaceful.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
