$2.50/month phone plan 1pSIM - is it legit?

Hi all,

1PSIM offers 100 MB, 100 min and 100 texts for $2.5 per month which will be enough as I have Wifi - anyone has tried it.

I'd like to keep my phone number and was wondering if it includes taxes and fees and the process of porting my phone number.

I'm currently on a $5 monthly plan with US mobile but not making use of it so considering switching.
Also interested if there are alternative plans for 2-4 $ per month. UltraMobile?

I have a free freedompop plan that looks like that.  But they consider 250 characters to be 1 text message.  So if a text message is very long or contains images, it will eat up the text and data quota fast.  If this is important to you, you should call the provider to make sure what 100 text messages actually mean.  I found that plan in the link https://prepaidcompare.net/. But I just checked that link and the free freedompop plan is gone.  Maybe others would have more ideas.

My son uses RedPocket's $45/year plan. ($3.75/mo)

It is adequate since he spends most of his time near Wi-fi.

To answer my original question, 1pSIM is NOT legit: Ordered a six month plan for about 20 bucks with activation about 1 month ago, paid through paypal and received a confirmation and tracking code, but it appears fake and I never received any shipment  and I received a shopping confirmation including a tracking code but never received the package so for anyone else wondering - avoid.

I then went for this $3 per month UltraMobile plan on eBay (lionk: https://www.ebay.com/itm/285112988423?_skw=%243+ultra+mobile&epid=23039768111&itmmeta=01JJFHTRHC6EEGR1NFANVKNH3F) which works without issues!

I think there are mint plans for like $15 with unlimited talk and text. Visible has unlimited data for $25, but that is probably overkill for your use case.

Data point of two: We have Visible and have been very happy with it. I use a lot of data, especially when we travel. It's nice not to have to worry about how much talk/text/data we use.

If you can use Wifi most of the time then the $15 mint plan is great. If you need unlimited then the Visible plan is great. Personally, I use the visible plan, and I am very happy with it.

Yeah I "make do" with mint's 5g... I just wanted to make sure no one was expecting unlimited for $15

$15 a month is a steal for cell service. I feel like it was way more expensive when I was younger.

I've been using Mint for over two years now and it has been great.  $15/month with 5G of data.  I haven't come close to using it all up in a month.

If you can stay on WiFi most of the time the $15 plan is great. Most places have WiFI now so it really shouldn't be too bad
