$10 in google play credit for Project Fi subscribers
« on: December 08, 2016, 08:17:25 PM »
If you're a current project fi subscriber, visit:  https://fiholiday.withgoogle.com/

After logging in, click the xmas tree to get a $10 Google Play credit code.

(I'd ignored the email about it, but then saw a mention that it contained a credit.  Wahoo!  Approximately a free book! :-)

Awesome!  I have also been ignoring their emails.  Might have to start reading them...

I really wanted to switch to Google Fi.  Unfortunately, right now, we have a farm/hunting cabin in a part of the state where basically only Verizon has any reception at all.  We used to have to drive 10-15 minutes into town to get cell reception to "phone home" and so on.  But Verizon has added some towers in the area and we can now get calls and some data if the weather isn't bad.  It would be really difficult to give that up.  The second they ink a deal with Verizon, I'm switching, though.

Ah, that's where the money they were going to use on employee Christmas gifts went...

Re cabin: Do you have internet up there?  Fi roams onto wifi as well.

Nah, its just spotty cell reception on the one good network, and non-existent on everything else.

To save others the bother, for Week 2, the "giveaway" is that Project Fi now has a referral program, with a $20 credit:

I'm not sure if you can go directly to this link to find your own referral code:  https://fiholiday.withgoogle.com/#refer-a-friend
but you might be able to.

If not, you can get to it from the holiday site by navigating to week 2 and then clicking the second from the right icon (a snowflake).

And hey, since now that exists, if you - ahem - don't have anyone else to refer you, here's my code. :)

https://g.co/fi/r/M4F376

$20 of credit if you use it, and $20 to the person who referred you.
