Which cabinets?
« on: November 15, 2020, 12:30:43 PM »
Please help which cabinets would you choose? This is for a rental. Note the style is similar to the lighter one. We don’t have an island or windows on the side. Thank you

A) Dark on light
B) Light on light

I'd go dark since it's a rental. Doesn't take long for white surfaces to develop signs of wear in a high use area.

Depends. Black and other dark colors can actually create the effect of disappearance, which can make a space feel larger. White can make a space feel more open and airy.

These things tend to depend upon where the windows are and where the colors are situated etc.

Here's a great link to better understand how this works.

Dark.  It will hide dirt and scuff marks.

White on white.  It is boring and thus, will look just as boring but still fine in 10-15 years.
Dark veneers that chip are extremely obvious, and I bet you are not thinking solid wood finishes everywhere.   White that chips and is painted looks fine... or at least ok without replacements.

Note the comment about it showing scuffs or marks, etc. is true  Think about your materials here.

I ended up staying with the dark Bc the time to make a change was too short even if I wanted to, but now I see trends of mix so maybe in the future I can switch out some doors or something.
