Tenant concerned about gas stove igniter
« on: June 09, 2017, 09:48:33 PM »
While i was showing them how to use the gas stove, they noticed that the front right burner clicked and showed a spark no matter which burner was being turned on by the knobs.

While I'd never thought about it before, it gave me pause.

I happen to have a gas stove at home and I went home and sure enough, mine works exactly the same way (except it's the middle burner).

Is this how most gas stoves work or is there possibly something wrong with the gas stove in my rental property?

Have you already rented to them? You're likely to get calls about how the A/C doesn't work and then find out that they didn't know they had to flip the thermostat from heat to cool.

Have seen that on every gas stove I've ever had. I think not only is it a safety feature but it is a simplicity of design feature. Why have four components to fix/assemble/create when you can have one.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
