I rent a tri-level townhouse w/a roommate, been there for a year. The landlord is out of state, never even met her, but all communications with her have been fine. Since she's out of state, there's a real estate agent in town who took care of getting it rented (to us). This agent is a very nice flake.
Our lease is up this month. We're staying put, and replied to that effect when she asked. Also told her specifically that we'd be happy to sign a new lease.
It's been a month, and in the mean time we've been in contact with her and the agent (the ejector pump failed last weekend, that was not fun). Everything's fixed now, but we haven't heard anything about a new lease. All communications go through email, so there's evidence that we're staying and that we're willing to sign a new lease.
Do I need to push to get and sign a new lease with her? In terms of simplicity, I'd just like to leave it alone, but don't want to screw myself.
