Just like most careers in Real Estate, this is a commission based 1099 (not W2) business
opportunity.

My guess is it's an opportunity for you to give them money.

If you want to learn about real estate investing I would do research on www.biggerpockets.com and consider joining the local Real Estate Investor Association - http://www.mynationalreia.com/clubportal/795files/Directory.cfm?clubID=795&statevalue=WA

It could be about birddogging where you find them deals and you get a referral fee.  They make the big money but you do learn.
