Anyone a Real Estate Agent who has relocated?
« on: July 20, 2015, 02:21:06 PM »
Hey all,

I'm currently working as a sales/marketing/property manager for a 1000 bed apartment community near a university. My wife and i are considering moving to an area of the country with more job opportunities for her (we've been here for over a year and she has still not found a job in her field, despite having a master's degree with a 4.0 GPA). My job is not terribly awful, but student housing typically requires 50-60+ hour weeks, and the pay isn't that amazing (especially when you break down how much per hour you're making). I got into this job because I have an interest in real estate, and thought I could get some experience and apply it to either investing or starting my own property management biz or other real estate venture.

I'm now considering getting my real estate license and possibly joining a team as a buyer's agent to get some experience (and leads) once we relocate. I always hear that you have to have a huge base of friends and family to be successful in real estate, so I was wondering if anyone has ever relocated to a new area and continued to have success as an agent. Or, just anyone with experience working as part of a team, mainly as a buyer's agent.

Thanks in advance!

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
