Title: How much do you charge to go?
Post by: honobob on September 08, 2013, 06:00:40 PM
Just curious as one of the big arguments against landlording is dealing with toilets.  I have a firm YPYP policy (your poop, your problem) but if a tenant can verify that it is the plumbing then I'll pay.  I had one complain twice but their plumber would not commit to it being my problem so they paid.  I felt bad but when they vacated I was having a plumber do some work next door and he offered to look at the slow running toilet while we were waiting for the building water to be shut off.  Sure enough he brought up a hairbrush.  Sent it to the old tenant in case he wanted a refund from his plumber.

It seems like plumbers charge pretty much the same everywhere so the more rent per toilet the better.  My lowest is $600 in Vegas and the highest is $3000 in Honolulu.  My average rent per toilet is $1250.  What's yours?
