Just came across this article in our local rag - touted as AirBNB for country people. You camp or shack up at someone's vacant piece of land.

Don't know what the insurance situation is like but I suppose it's an extension of the self-catering accommodation/camping situation except on private land.

Sounds like a bit of a nightmare -- where do you do your business? People tend to leave a lot of trash behind, too... squatters R us when it comes to land, moreso than a building...

Wonderful!!
Currently I access opportunities similar to this via WWOOF or [what some people call] boondocking, for free. But I pay a donation to stay at another silent, naturey space, and would certainly pay an established fee for the right option. I love quiet, country, etc, and being left to sleep in peace from police, etc.
Seems like a great idea :)
