After a year and a half we are planning our first in person work conference. We have a team of about 20 individuals. Several have joined us in the last year and a half. I know there are a lot of activities but I was wondering if anyone had anything that has really worked well. We want this to be fun, enjoyable, and a bit different than they are used.
Anyone have any great ideas???

One I liked was everyone writes down one true thing about themselves, emphasising something hard to guess. These all go in a hat and a speaker reads them out, people write down who they think wrote it and names revleaed at the end.
From mine I learned:
- My manager can deadlift >2x her bodyweight
- One of my coworkers had his hair bleached from competing as a swimmer
- Someone lived with a fisherman
- etc
Also a big fan of 50/50 - the idea is to ask a lightning round of either or questions:
- Ketchup or BBQ sauce
- Ice cream or a sorbet
- TV or movie
- surfing or swimming
No context, just firing away, again the more mundane and irrelevant the more fun

We did one with a pile of pennies. Each person picks out a penny and then describes something they were doing that year. Usually they'll say, oh, that's when I was finishing school, or that's when I made a trip to Italy, or that's when my first child was born, or that's when we moved across country, etc.
