Where Would You buy A Car From

(1/5) > >>

Tezz24:
If you're not going to use Craigslist, where would you buy a car from? Are there reliable websites out there? A local dealer? Something else?

I'm not looking for the *best* deal, I'm looking for a good deal, with as little time spent as possible.

I haven't bought a car in 15 years. I will likely get a 5 year old CRV or similar.

You may want to check out Hertz and Enterprise.  Both have car sale divisions.  No haggling is a benefit.  I was happy with one of them years ago; can't remember which one.

J Dough:
I have used Cars.com and I've heard good things about Autotrader.com. Note that dealers can use the sites, so if you are looking for a good price, you are likely better off with private-party sellers.

Bought my 2010 Corolla from Carsense back in 2012 - had a great experience! No haggle pricing, felt like the deal was good on a car with extremely low mileage.

RWD:
I've bought a couple cars I found on Autotrader. Another option if you have a specific car in mind is to find a forum dedicated to that car and check out their for sale section. I would recommend staying away from former rental cars.
