What online tools do you use to save money and comparison shop?
« on: January 03, 2020, 09:02:56 AM »
Hi, I hope people in the forum here can lend a hand, also not sure if this is the right section to post in, redirect/move if needed. I've moved into a new apartment and have found myself thinking about comparison shopping for things. Such examples are household stuff like cleaning products, toilet paper, and even cooking supplies. An example of this is that I bought a 25lb bag of flour to use for the year and bought a bucket to store it in. The flour costs me 4 cents less per ounce then if I were to buy 5 5lb bags.

So far I've started using Camel Camel Camel to track things on Amazon to see when things go on sale. Lately, I have a couple of cookbooks in my wishlist I've wanted to buy and tracking to see when they have a low price on them. I've also seemed to have found the app for mobile and browser extension and website Honey has been useful too.

So how do you comparison shop to find the lowest price on a certain item?

If it's a broad category of item and not a specific one (say a specific brand of coffee), check out slickdeals and their specific product categories. I stalked it for an unlocked cell phone and found a pretty great one.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
