What are you selling for Christmas income?
« on: October 14, 2016, 08:11:42 AM »
I've started watching for Christmas stuff to buy for the family, but I know a bunch of people on here have businesses making stuff to sell. I'd love to support other mustachios this year, and if your product matches our needs/wants at a competitive price, you will get the advantage over WalMart.

Please link your craft fairs, home businesses, etsy shops, amazon links, etc. with impunity here. I need ideas, and I need to get started. This forum is ALL ABOUT ME after all! (BTW, tell me why I NEED your product, I love a cheesy sales pitch).

This is a great idea!

I crochet items for babies and kids.  I also have an Etsy shop.  I'm not ready to disclose my IRL identity right now (although I'm sure I'm easy to find), but I can post photos with prices then PM the shop link to anyone interested in purchasing.

Love this plan! Self-market away, folks! I know there are some people on here that do art, like Orvell and Toffee.

Thanks for the shout-out, Bracken_Joy!  My Etsy account has very little on it lately(I don't keep up with it), but I take commissions for all sorts of stuff, mostly paintings and illustrations.  I slapped together an Imgur album of some of my work: http://imgur.com/a/agceN   You can see even more stuff on my art Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ClimbingIvyArtShop/ (PS: If you're looking for Halloween decorations, I have pumpkin carving templates on my FB page you can print for free!)

Illustrations are my jam; much of my commissioned artwork is done for people who have an inside joke that they really want to share. I'd love to illustrate holiday cards!  Bonus:  If you come up with something for me to draw that I believe I can reproduce and use, I won't charge for the custom drawing, only the cards/prints themselves.  I've been painting for a few years as well, and some of the absolute best gifts I've done are portraits of pets!  Pet lovers freak out when I give them a painting of their dog or cat; it's awesome :) I've got TONS more crochet/knit stuff that's not pictured, including stuffed animals and silly hats!  My favorite crocheted gift was a John Locke doll from the show Lost, he had poseable arms.

Let me know if you have any particular ideas; I love to work with people and give them something really cool!

I do a killer Bad Santa impression for Christmas parties.

You know....  the character made famous by Billy Bob Thornton in the eponymous movie.  It's ubiquitous now on cable TV.

Pay my expenses to your party, and pay my bar bill and breakage at said party, and I'll unleash my Bad Santa on you.

I have not yet located an elf side-kick who is a P-O'-C and P-O'-Small-Stature -- so if that is part of your vision, you'll have to recruit that side of the act on your own; but I'm willing to work with others.  But not dolphins....  I'll never work with dolphins again.

Sure, why not. I try not to spam my links everywhere unless asked, but since you asked.... I make chainmail jewelry (and holiday ornaments, though those aren't up yet.) Mostly goth stuff - skulls, spiders, etc - but also plenty of "normal" jewelry that one could wear to a corporate job.

My Etsy is here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DoBatsEatCats. My website, which has nerdy fandom jewelry not allowed on Etsy, (Doctor Who, Harry Potter, etc.) is http://www.dobatseatcats.com/.

I'm a bit all over the place!

Me and a creative partner are creating fortnightly creative packages. She writes a short story, and I draw or paint a thing, based on the same prompt. Every 2 weeks we then (depending on subscriber level) email or mail these out to our supporters. It's going super well so far. :) We'll be doing it for an entire year, and there are pleeeenty of fortnights yet to come if you want to sign up.

I'm also selling "Gayzard" (it's super cute gay lizard) shirts on Society6 as well as art prints on Etsy.

PM Me if you want details!

I sell random things on Amazon. Any old videogames, books, appliances, anything really. There's a detailed guide in my signature about how to sell things on Amazon.

This is a great idea - I don't make anything, but I hope some more folks post links, and I'll check out the ones that are listed so far!

Hey Scrubby, I may get your book, read it, and then pass it along to my kid. May as well double dip, right. I'm not sure that she will read, so I may as well.

Cool, thanks, Prospector! And if your kid won't read it, a pass-along to a student union, library, food bank, or other agency serving people with low income would be awesome!

Ok I'm going to take a leap and just post my Etsy shop page here.  I have too much stuff to try to post everything here.  If you know me please pretend you don't :)

All hats posted can be made in any size from newborn to adult.  Everything is made-to-order.  If you see something floating around on the internet that isn't shown here.  Please PM me with a picture for a quote. Most likely I can make it (yes I've been crocheting that long), this includes mermaid tail blankets, shark (or other) socks, and disney'ish hats,

My Etsy Shop Name is: NorthEastBaby
https://www.etsy.com/shop/NorthEastBaby

P.S.  I'm learning to knit so I don't sell any knit products yet, but I can send you to someone who does knit and is taking orders.

Thank you!  I'm going though an owl phase too.  I've used the little owls on everything from pacifier clips to key chains to magnets.  I just forget to take pictures half the time!

My husband just published a book of short stories in time for Halloween. Good for both Halloween or Christmas :)

Quote
Rural Legends is a small collection of short horror stories inspired by the folklore I grew up with rural Delaware. The first volume contains 4 short stories, with more to come.
