The book "Dove" by Robin Lee Graham

This is not a financial book.  The description on Amazon reads: "In 1965, 16-year-old Robin Lee Graham began a solo around-the-world voyage from San Pedro, California, in a 24-foot sloop. Five years and 33,000 miles later, he returned to home port with a wife and daughter and enough extraordinary experiences to fill this bestselling book, Dove."

Just finished this book today.  It's a quick and easy read.  It was a refreshing distraction from the constant bombardment of negativity we are exposed to these days.

I read this about a decade ago and enjoyed it.

I recall reading a similar book from an author who made a similar sail around the world in the lat 1800's.  I forget the name, but I recall it being mentioned in Graham's book as well.  I consider it an comparably good read if you can track it down.

I read it when I was a kid not long after it came out.

I started sailing young and that book (among others) gave me the dream of sailing around the world.

@NorCal The book you are thinking of is probably "Sailing Alone Around the World" by Joshua Slocum.

Both these books are a great reminder of how much a good sailor can do without high tech gear in a small but seaworthy boat.
