Title: Sprint sucks!!!
Post by: Rasputin on January 29, 2019, 06:25:09 PM
I have unlimited everything; talk, text, data. I pay about $110 a month. iPhone for life plan. When I first switched from Verizon (because of cost difference) service was fine, but over the last year and a half, the service really sucks. Dropped calls. Slow data.
What is everyone here using? I’m thinking about going back to Verizon which would put me about $130 a month.

We are on the T-mobile network through Ting.  We've been with Ting for about three years and have averaged about $40/month for the two of us.  We don't really use any data, just wifi.

I have looked into Mint Mobile, which I think would save us a bit, but I am too lazy to switch for $10/month.

I did the trial for Mint Mobile and it was terrible, same with Ting. I think T-Mobile is quite bad in my area. Just got off the year of free unlimited from Sprint and the service was tolerable for $7 a month, better than T-Mobile

Currently doing a Verizon prepaid plan with some discounts through work make it about $50 for two lines and the service is definitely the best.

You did it wrong.  You could have switched to Sprint and gotten a free year of unlimited everything:

The network sucks so bad they have to give it away.

I'm on T-mobile and it's been great.  $93/mo for two unlimited lines.

But it really depends on geography as with any carrier.  All the carriers are at least "fine" in "most" places.  Talk to people that frequent where you are most often using it.

I switched to Sprint about a year and a half ago. Got 6 brand new I-phones , paid of my old plan, unlimited everything and free Hulu and not only did I save a fortune I haven't had one dropped call and two of my kids are at different colleges in different states so not sure what the deal would be other than your location perhaps. No one has complained in my house.

I went with US Mobile and they us Verizon Towers, so the quality is awesome They are month to month, so no contracts. I've been with them a few months now. I pay $29 after taxes for Unlimited Text/Calls & 5GB of Data.

use my referral code and we both get $10 off of our bill (https://www.usmobile.com/referrals?data=Y29kZT1ITVBPRkJPJm5hbWU9TGFycnk=)

Are you in a rural area? Because it’s hard to beat Verizon’s service in rural areas, in which case you go to a Verizon mnvo that runs off its network. When you say you need unlimited data what’s your monthly average use? (Check your phone if your bill doesn’t tell you.) And are your rates for one or two lines?

If you use less than 25GB check out total wireless. They have a $50 plan (probably closer to $60-65 with taxes and fees) for 25GB and then you can add 10GB for $10 thereafter. They run on Verizon’s network. It’s probably a better deal than Verizon up to about 45-55GB. I think most people who say they need “unlimited” mean they need more than 5 but less than 15GB. However, one coworker uses 50+GB a month, which I previously thought was impossible unless someone was using their phone as a hotspot...which he doesn’t.

Also, the rates for Verizon have since dropped, because you can get 75GB unlimited plan for $90. Good news is that if you really use 50+GB and have to switch back, you now qualify for new customer pricing.

If you use Xfinity as your cable and/or TV, look into Xfinity Mobile. It uses Verizon network and we love it. We were on Cingular and then AT&T past 15 years or so before switching. Unlimited voice and text are free with Xfinity cable/TV, and you only pay data by usage ($12 per GB) or $45 for unlimited. It comes with 100MB per month for free, so if you use very little data and wifi, you only pay taxes.

I went with verizon as I need reliability. I drive a lil Uber on the side for extra cash. I got a pretty nice discount off my bill for being former Army. Now I can look at porn without it reloading before the money shot.
