Motorola year-end specials
« on: December 09, 2023, 01:06:06 PM »
Motorola offers various discounts and clearance specials in December. Their base model phone from the now-outgoing 2023 lineup is currently $99, unlocked, with various other options under $200. Many of these phones have hardware headphone jacks and a slot for an SD card for photos, music, podcasts, etc.

As long as your objective is "have an operable phone" and not "impress the other kids at school," these are solid phones for the price, and this price also makes them a good starter smartphone and gift for anyone who's still operating with a land-line phone or old-school cell. I've started a few seniors on the base models, and DH and I both use their mid-range ones.

I'm not affiliated, so if this isn't for you, ignore it.

TBF, I forgot Motorola is still actually a thing.

Thanks for the share though!

I have a Moto G Power from 2021 and its still going strong! The camera is a few years behind on technology but isn't a priority for me.

Yeah, that's an apt description of Moto's phone offerings. Solid, but the camera is nothing to write home about. I mostly take "utility" photos, anyway. I might take a picture of the map/directory to find my way around, and my only need is that it be readable. If I ever get serious about photography, the camera might become a separate object again, or at least a higher priority when choosing a phone.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
