Walk-a-seat
« on: June 09, 2017, 05:59:17 AM »
Bought two of these a month ago and they're used constantly. Recommended for people who want to have a portable seat whilst out for a walk or for those who are sick of standing up at festivals.

I bought one initially for my elderly mother because she gets tired standing up and wants to find the nearest ledge, bench etc etc which sometimes ain't practical and not so clean. I bought the other for myself because I went to the Vivid Festival here and didn't want to jostle for seating.

It is foldable and they're made locally here, in a town called...Dunedoo...dunny-what? Yup, Dun-e-doo. Half the fun is telling people where it is made.

Okay, I'll bite. How much do they cost? Are they sold in the US? Next month, DH and I are going to attend an event that requires a strenuous hike up a mountain to get free admittance, which you know we're gonna do.

AUD65 but don't know what the current exchange rate is atm - hovering around the 0.70 mark? Rumours we could go down to 1AUD = 0.50USD which is going to make it more expensive for us to buy from US but cheaper the other way.

Send them an email and ask if they post to the USA. Would recommend registered post.

I just used them over the long weekend here watching a festival and going to the local farmer's market so I can vouch for their continued sturdiness. But for extended hiking I use these pair of poles (no seat): Black Diamond Distance FLZ

These are super lightweight poles and I have climbed mountains with them.

I agree these are great for being out and about for a long time.

For someone not in Aus, try looking up "shooting stick", which will get you to many varieties of the same or similar.

The US generic name seems to be 'cane chair' or 'cane seat'.
If you don't need or want the cane part, it's 'travel chair'.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
