Take a look at what will soon be for sale at http://www.eliomotors.com/.  It's a new vehicle for less than $10,000, is expected to get more than 80 miles to the gallon and carpool lane compliant in CA.  I currently drive 65 miles each way to work on wonderful LA freeways, so can't wait.

Can you get your money back?  They just announced yet another delay. Seriously, there are plenty of alternatives to this on the cheap.
