Good value desk chair?
« on: February 19, 2019, 09:24:37 AM »
My desk chair is cheap and awful and provides basically no back support.  I have to sit at it a couple hours every day for my side hustle, so I'm looking for something that doesn't make sitting at my desk very unpleasant.  I'm reticent to spend a couple hundred dollars on just a chair though.  Are there any affordable desk chairs that provide good lumbar support and are maybe not too hard on the keister too?

Most every city has at least one used office furniture store.
Many they sell are like-new.   Find a scratched one to save a few bucks.
Do a few test sits - find one that fits you.

I'll second used office furniture. I bought two really nice chairs from a local guy whose family business had just moved to a larger space that came furnished, so he was selling off all the old furniture. I got two chairs that cost over $350 new for $25 each. I've had them a couple of years now, and they are so much nicer than the Office Depot chair I had before.

We also bought a good quality, advanced desk chair second hand on a Graig's list sort of website. It is probably 10 years old, but in good shape. A new good quality chair would have cost 10-fold.

Track down a used Steelcase office chair either on Craigslist or at a used office furniture store.

I used a low quality office chair for years. That plus some other ergonomic issues with my desk setup led to shoulder issues that took a lot of time and $ to correct. I am now 100% it's worth the money get a comfortable setup.

I use this chair. I has many adjustment points and is working well. I also use an adjustable desk so I can stand at intervals throughout the day.
