Hi all,
I am here in Ireland playing gigs with my band and really enjoying it. We just played for the Dingle Food and Wine festival. Very fun time.
I thought I would mention a great deal on car rentals. Use Kayak or autoeurope to search, search out a couple weeks and you will find 2 week rentals for less than $20 usd. Less than $2 a day! Mine was $22, end of Oct is showing 14 days, $14...
Ireland is excluded from most credit card Collision Damage Waivers (CDW) AmEx, MasterCard, Visa, but Chase issued cards are not, they have CDW coverage included, as long as you pay for the rental with the card. Also Liability insurance is included, as well as unlimited miles.
We rented the "economy" and got 4 door VW Up! from Budget, it has been great on gas, just enough room for 3 people and 9 bags (including 5 instruments). Can't be happier.
Staying at AirBnb's with an average cost of $45 a night, Fixing our own meals... Very budget friendly travel.
