Chase Bank referral code $350

I've been banking with Chase ever since they bought Washington Mutual. Apparently, there is a referral program for $200 to open a new checking account and $150 to open a savings account, and these can be combined for $350. If you use my referral link, I get $50. We all win!

Thanks and enjoy!

By the way, I don't think Chase's savings account rates are worthwhile, even with the bonus. But I do recommend Chase for checking; I'm a longtime happy customer.

Hi, I was doing a search because I get these in the mail all the time but I've never done it because I want to avoid fees and keep my finances simple. Has anyone signed up because of this bonus or a similar offer? Is there a catch we should be aware of (like you need to wait 6 months to get the bonus, and you need a minimum of $10k in the account or something)?
FYI I'm thinking about changing my mind and signing up now because they offer a discount on their HELOC rates if you're an existing customer and it looks like they mean checking/savings, not mortgage, to qualify as an existing customer.
Thanks!

I signed up for the checking bonus (think it was $300 at the time). Check the rules but, as I recall, it was 2 direct deposits a month to avoid a fee. An ACH counts (counted) as a direct deposit, so I just pushed $250 2x a month until it hit $1500, which is also a fee-free line.

tl;dr It is as easy as it seems. Just read the rules and be strict about following them.

The savings account has a much higher minimum.

Thank you! Yes as a self employed person my ACH payments from clients are not frequent enough to meet their requirements. Bummer!
