If you have a smart phone, there are also apps for ebooks from libraries. BorrowBox services a number of libraries, including Brisbane City Council.
And also, for those in Queensland, I only recently found out that local or State library membership can give you access to expensive ebooks and subscriptions through the State Library of Queensland website - such as the full suite of Oxford English Dictionary subscriptions!
