Book - Born a Crime, by Trevor Noah
« on: June 13, 2017, 06:11:04 AM »
I saw Trevor Noah perform on his comedy tour on 2 June 2017. Hilarious. Gut hurt.

Got the book, finished it last night. It is a brilliant read. It's nothing like his Daily Show made-for-TV stuff, ratings-driven by the network. This is the real guy, just like his stand-up routine.

I'm from East Africa, so relate to a lot of his writing, except didn't grow up under apartheid, but it was a single-party run political state with a series of strongmen and tribal politics.

It's on my nightstand. Can't wait to start, particularly as it's a library book that cannot be renewed.

Put a hold on a library copy.  Thanks for recommending it.

I'm an absurdly high number on the hold list at my library, but I'm looking forward to reading it when it's my turn.

I read it earlier this year and loved it. What a story. Highly recommend!

I keep hearing about this over and over, so I just downloaded it.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention again.  :)
