Costco Travel - cruises
« on: April 10, 2017, 05:40:58 AM »
I would like to purchase my next cruise using Costco Travel.  I am planning a cruise to Alaska for June 2018.  I have read some of the reviews of Costco Travel and it sounds very appealing.  However, I would like to solicit any feedback (positive or negative).  This would be my third cruise.  Thanks in advance.

My apologies.  I  didn't realize I was in the "POST-Fire" board.  I will repost in the "Ask a Mustachian" section.

I would check cruisecritic.com and their forums.

I highly recommend Costco Travel.  However, the cost difference between using Costco Travel vs. booking through the cruise line was not much for us.

In our case, we will be cruising next month and chose Costco Travel because of the Costco Gift Card that will be mailed to us afterwards.    In addition, it helps if you are using the Costco Citi Visa and receive the credit card rewards.

Occasionally Costco will throw in Costco gift cards or other perks.  If you buy airfare through Costco make sure your connection times are reasonable.  I had problems with this traveling to London. Costco definitely has great prices on their cruises and other packages.

Check out the entertainment guide (the book with deals in your area). We are going to Alaska this summer and got a pretty good deal through them.

We did a Norwegian cruise to the Bahamas through Costco and it turned out great. As others said it usually involves a credit or upgrade of some sort. I would go for it!
