I quit around 3 months ago
« on: March 01, 2016, 05:52:01 AM »
Hello everyone. This is my first post here. It was recomended when I was looking for a place to talk about my still recent frugal financial independence. It is being great, but I don't have anyone whom I could talk about this.

Quick profile: 36, male, programmer, single, no kids, shithole 3rd world country.

I made a couple of posts in reddit talking about that, so I think it would be more interesting to just post the link here instead of just copy-and-paste.

tl;dr: its being great, but I still feel a bit weird about it.

Awesome.  Loved reading your immediate post-FIRE experiences.  Sounds like you've got the psychology handled really well.

Nevertheless, these articles could come in handy, IMO:

Would love to hear any more wisdom you have, or about your path to this point.  :)

I hear you on the interests from your childhood.  I think I am going to purchase myself a very fancy kite as my ER present to myself!

Great job! (or great no job :).  Stick around here and you'll get a lot of support from others who have walked the path you are on.

Congrats!  You're bound to get lots of criticism over on Reddit.  You're taking a different path than usual (even among this crowd of outliers), so expect plenty of criticism.

A lot of people might say things like "your life is boring" or "you are a loner"...I say if you are happy, go ahead and enjoy your life how you choose to.  Not everyone is a social butterfly.

Thank you all for your words. Moving away from the rat race can be quite lonely, so it means a lot to me.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
