End of Year Closeout
« on: November 21, 2020, 09:28:32 AM »
I was thinking of doing all my income accounting and initiating my final income-setting transfer from Trad IRA to Roth (intra Fidelity) on Dec 15. Curious as to when you make your final transfers, rollovers, etc. I am just guessing a mid-month close-out will be accurate while allowing enough time to not cause issues with year-end cutoffs.

I make my year end roth conversions once I know I have pulled all the money from my taxable accounts that I want to pull for the year. I just did the conversion a couple of days ago. Generally anytime in November or early December for me.

I'll be waiting until all my taxable index funds have declared their dividends. That will probably be in the last week of the year.

ONLY sell after the dividends are paid out.  Some pay quarterly, some pay annually.
