Getting juvenile record expunged?
« on: January 27, 2017, 12:48:25 PM »
Anyone have any experience doing this without an attorney? This has not caused an issue for DH, but he was not guilty, and it's just the point. He has had no issues as an adult whatsoever, even has a clean driving record and concealed carry permit.

Getting it sealed is probably easier than getting it expunged. Also, things vary state by state. But your DH sounds like a good candidate.

Note the state by state list on down the page.

This is definitely a state by state thing. I work in this area, so if you want to send me a PM I may have a suggestion about resources to point you to in your jurisdiction. Many times you do not need an attorney. If he has had no issues thus far, it may already be sealed. Many states automatically seal most juvenile records. Have you pulled a copy of his arrest record?
