In some circles Trudeau has the reputation of being a pretty-boy empty-suit riding his father's competent coattails. Generally, how popular is he in Canada right now?
And why do people think Trudeau is so good looking? (He's kind of meh in my book and speaking of books, he looks like the male character that would appear on the cover of a third-rate romance novel. If we're talking NAFTA hunks, I much prefer Vicente Fox, for example despite [because of?] his porn-stache. Also Fox is 74, I think he made the same deal with the devil Alex Trebek made [who is 76 years old]!)
I go the other way, so I have no opinions as to his hotness.
I think he's as popular as any politician can be. At least when he says something it seems to be based on values instead of partisan objectives. I never understood where the pretty-boy negs come from.
You hear comments like PM-selfie, as if there's a politician - somewhere - that didn't like photo-ops.
Or PM Justine. I think that's offensive in multiple ways. (Is a woman less capable than a man? Is being attractive to women bad? I dunno what they're thinking. Repressed lust? )
He's obviously not an empty suit. He became party leader, revitalized the Liberal party and beat the incumbent conservatives to win a majority government, with very few missteps in the process. Not something an air head could achieve.
