What would you do with a $250,000 small business grant? - Help
« on: November 11, 2013, 07:57:49 AM »
A couple years ago my wife started a small business doing what she loves - veterinary medicine. Since then she's been working 50-80 hours a week trying to build her practice and become self sufficient. So far she hasn't paid herself anything for all the hard work she's put in. Only recently has she been able to break even a couple months being able to both pay the mortgage and the wages of her employees without worrying about paying her suppliers.

A few weeks ago she found out that she could become qualified for a grant given out by Chase. In order for Chase to even look at her application, she needs to get 250 votes from unique people. Unfortunately, her client list hasn't grown enough to supply all these votes (something like 10% voted) so we are asking everybody we know to please vote for her.

If you have the time, and don't mind the hassle of logging into Facebook, we would appreciate it if you vote for her here:

https://www.missionmainstreetgrants.com/business/detail/22834

If she gets the grant, she plans to pay off a large portion of the start-up loan that we both took to get started. This reduction in debt will allow her to hire more employees, purchase better equipment, and provide better care for her furry/scaly patients.

Unfortunately, no. I despise Facebook, and keep my account around only for situations like this. No worries, we appreciate your support.

I'll vote for you when I get home (and have access to FB). My dad is also applying for one of these grants and we are about to hit 250 votes (Reid Lighting). Honestly, it took a lot of effort to get the votes, lots of FB postings by me and my siblings and then we were even just sending individual messages/emails to everyone we could think of that has FB. Just be a pest and and ask everyone, multiple times! Post on your FB and ask family and close friends that use FB frequently to share the post. Its down to the wire, so I would post everyday.

Good luck!
