I don't think this is very gross, but anyone I've ever told seems to think I'm crazy: I prefer to eat my cereal with heavy cream or whipping cream, rather than any sort of milk.

Also, I actually like wearing a bra.  I've never understood when my friends talk about taking their bra off as the first thing they do when they get home from work...or used to "get home", now I believe no one wears bras anymore except me!  Having watched my share of What Not to Wear in the aughts, I suspect most people's problems is they are wearing several sizes too small.  But even if not and I'm the one wearing them improperly, I actually really prefer the feeling of wearing a bra, where everything feels nice and secure (not secure like a bank, but secure like a person with confidence and ease) and even cozy.  I've never felt any pain or discomfort from any bra.

I don’t think either of those are crazy! My grandma always put cream on her cereal. We don’t drink milk so I only ever buy half-and-half or cream.

I’m rather top-heavy. It’s usually easier to wear a bra, especially in summer as it reduces skin contact.

Years of skimming for dirty pictures in old national geographics would seem to indicate that bras serve a highly important gravity related structural-support purpose . . . and that without them things go catastrophically wrong.

Nope. They don't unless you are running a lot. Many years ago studies demonstrated that constant bra wearing actually weakens the tissues that support the breasts, contributing to more sagging.

The national geographic ladies probably had multiple children and weight fluctuations, which is the primary exacerbator of breast sagging, not their lack of constricting foundation garments.

I haven't gone bra-less since I was like... 10? 11? I have always made a point of buying comfortable bras versus stupid ones, which may be part of the reason I prefer to wear them. It's nice to have so many options these days for wireless ones especially. I don't know what the hell kind of bras people are buying that are so uncomfortable that everyone wants out of them as soon as it's not considered indecent.

As far as favorite things that nobody else likes, probably walking? I prefer walking to pretty much any other mode of transportation. My usual daily walk to work is actually one of the few things I miss working from home now.

I LOVE walking! It's one of my new favorites! Sorry you aren't getting your daily walking commute. Hopefully you are able still get out there for a walk though!

I am a candy slut. So I happily eat candy corn, peanut butter taffy "kisses" and other candy people hate. (I do draw the line at cadbury eggs; those ARE inedible).

eta I LOVE octopus (eating).  I realize I might have to refrain, after watching octopus teacher (I eat it once a year when visiting family. I'm still having an internal debate about this. Not that I should be eating octopus. I should not because they are wild animals who are threatened. But what that means that I still eat domesticated farm animals who are as or more intelligent).
I also enjoy a lot of different organ meats (liver and sweetmeats in particular). I probably grossed out people in HS because I would bring liverwurst with mayo and onion on toasted wheat bread, or pimento loaf sandwiches for lunch.

oatmeal can be sweet or savory. I often make oatmeal (has to be salty) and eat it with a poached egg on top.

I love walking too, and I also miss my almost daily walk to and from work now that I'm remote working.

I think candy corn is a bit gross, AND I love eating it. I can't explain it.

I have quite a sweet tooth but about 1-2 pieces of candy corn and I'm DONE. Pure sugar to me. ;)

"More walks and less meetings" was practically my mantra when making the decision to take early retirement in 2017.

I don’t normally have a big sweet tooth but do like Cadbury eggs. One per year is plenty.

I prefer my oatmeal with either unsweetened peanut butter and apple pie spice (maybe a bit of maple syrup if I’m feeling festive) or salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, thyme, butter, and sharp cheddar.

Yep, I've definitely seen this on several restaurant menus, so it can't be too universally unpopular.

My people!!

To be more precise, I like both the Western (hot tea with a splash of milk) and Eastern (iced milk with a bit of black tea, often with boba pearls) without any sugar added. The Eastern version is plenty sweet when you add the boba.

I don't know what the hell kind of bras people are buying that are so uncomfortable that everyone wants out of them as soon as it's not considered indecent.

Sometimes I can't even stand to have a shirt with seams touching my skin.  Sometimes if my hair touches any part of my body (face, shoulders, back) it is physically uncomfortable.  So a bra?  nope.  Gave up wearing them years ago.  I usually now just wear a camisole of some sort, but I've been thinking about getting some of those dentist paper towels that they put in front of your chest and hang like a necklace from your neck for the times when I want more coverage (for other people's sensibilities, definitely not my own).  I think there's a side hustle here somewhere.

If I have unexpected visitors or need to run a quick errand I just grab a vest or blouse that I keep nearby; otherwise, it's no bra and T-shirts all day in retirement life.

Obviously I'm a guy but summer heat is a bigger challenge than winter cold where I live.

Don't understand how ladies deal with the heat! A bra is another layer of insulation in my book.

Ah, but boob sweat is also a thing, which can make the added layer far more comfortable if it is a nice wicking material.

Eating foods without any seasoning (no need to pass the salt and pepper down to my end of the table)

Stale Peeps (haven't had them in years, but it's the only way I would eat them)

Camping alone on a deserted beach, the forest, or the desert in the back of my Nissan X-terra, using only a thin camping pad and bundled up in my sleeping bag...if there are no bugs, I just sleep outside...

In the past 4 or 5 years, I travelled from October to May between Northern Canada and Mexico which is usually the rain-free season at that time of the year except for snow when I drive through Alberta, Montana, Idaho so I usually just keep going, only spending a couple of nights to rest in a quiet area on a side road, until I reach the warmer areas of Utah where the weather is practically perfect for outdoor pursuits at least in the lower altitudes, then it is smooth sailing all the way to Mexico. Same on the way back in the spring. I think in five years, we were only caught once in a thunderstorm with high winds somewhere in a desert area in Utah (or Arizona?), the light and sound show was incredible but it was a bit scary in the rooftop tent. Still, despite the rain and thunder, it was better than a day at the office though ;)

Oh yeah!  Again, I'm aging out of loving camping as much...but I've slept tentless (or only with mosquito netting around my head) SO MANY PLACES.  Coastal beaches (woke up soaking wet b/c of fog, which is cool), southwestern deserts (though not so great in the summer b/c of kissing bugs...but the rest of the year is awesome), forested mountains, the badlands. One time I slept without a pad on a rock ledge hanging over a river...that time I had to kind of angle myself and wedge my feet into a crack so I wouldn't roll off and into the river in my sleep.

Tents kind of suck, honestly.

Maybe it's how you market it.  I must admit I cringed at @BussoV6 describing bacon and peanut butter sandwiches.  But the idea of a peanut butter and bacon burger sounds awesome!  I don't know why I had such a diverse reaction... but I did!

My family has a thing for fried (aka heated in a pan until there are some browned bits) bologna and peanut butter toast sandwiches.  Bacon is probably a much better choice.

My weird favorite thing - I love candy circus peanuts.  They're orange colored, peanut shaped, technically banana flavored per chemistry, and have the texture of an overly stale and very dense marshmallow.  How much better can you get?

I love those marshmallow bananas (ours are actually yellow and banana shaped here in Canada), I bought a bag of them early in the pandemic when the grocery store had them for some weird reason.

Yay, banana marshmallow solidarity :)

I feel like they're sold at a random assortment of stores here in Colorado.  You usually can't find them in a lot of grocery stores, but they sell them at the local hardware/farm store, and at Joann Fabric.

ETA - I just looked them up to make sure they're weirdly banana flavored - they are, but it also turns out they're run through a metal detector TWICE after production to make sure they're safe.  I don't know if that makes me feel reassured or very much not.

Yes, stale peeps for the win! I remember splitting the cellophane so they could "age". Circus peanuts. I've had these 2 times? My entire life and I would put them in the small pile of "not good" candy in that they are reminiscent of banana flavored packing peanuts. The fact they have to be run through a metal detector (I'm too afraid to ask why) reinforces my belief. There is some other banana flavored candy I like (now and later) that is ok tho.

I was a boyscout when I was a teenager, and one time we were on a long hike in Tennessee.  A lot of the guys had just taken hammocks to lighten their load, but I had a tent.  We set up one of the nights, and everybody was asleep in their hammocks and tents.  We all woke up in the middle of the night to lightning and thunder.  Then a few minutes later the downpour hit.  All the guys in hammocks went scrambling for the tents that the more prepared of us were sleeping in.  I ended up pushed against the side of the tent (which was not completely waterproof) for the rest of the night.  It's nice to sleep out under the stars, but it's a bit risky in this area of the world.

ETA - I just looked them up to make sure they're weirdly banana flavored - they are, but it also turns out they're run through a metal detector TWICE after production to make sure they're safe.  I don't know if that makes me feel reassured or very much not.

I'd like to know more about this... mostly out of the same curiosity that first brought me to this thread.

It was from this article, which I mostly regret reading.

Whoops!  I clicked through more articles than I remembered.  The metal detector bit is in this one, about manufacturing at Spangler, the largest maker of circus peanuts.  Apparently they come in multiple flavors, too!  Vanilla (White), Lemon (Yellow), Cherry (Red) and Banana (Orange).

That is interesting. Maybe the metal detector are just to sound an alarm if a bolt or nut fell off the equipment? I wonder if that is standard for a lot of mass produced food, but we never hear about it...

I'll echo what some others have said:
(salty) licorice
durian
candy corn

I also like chalk candy like Necco Wafers, especially the botanical flavors. Licorice and pepto-bismol flavor (wintergreen) -- yum!
In the same vein of botanicals, I really enjoy gin and absinthe. I don't think liking gin is uncommon at all but I've met enough people that don't like it that it seems to not be universally accepted. As for absinthe, I don't think anyone likes it, even those that like it.

Re: circus peanuts. I forgot that those are a thing. I've never had them so I'll have to get some next time I'm at the store. I LOVE fake banana flavor but I've not found great ways of ingesting it in large quantities. It's not a good idea to eat a bunch of Tums and it's hard to eat a lot of Laffy Taffy.

Hawthorn Berries...raw.  Not the candied kind as linked below, but raw ones.  They're like tiny sour apples, kind of.

Hairless sphynx cats.

Not everyone disagrees with me, but most people find them weird and ugly.

My sister has one that looks like the one in your avatar except that it's white.
