Drinking a dime's worth of homemade coffee. $35 single cup coffee maker that uses any grounds and a wire basket.

Also sitting here on the desk staring at me is an orange. That'll get eaten in about 30 mins.

Looking forward to reading this whole thread. I am NOT a creative eater. I get hungry and grab the easiest most obvious solution. I also need to lose some weight.

Does wine count?  In an MMM approved box of course. Might need go go get a piece of 85% chocolate to go with.

Actually, earlier we had a sort of fajita thing - black beans made in the Instant Pot, fancied up with some lard, dried chile, cumin, tomato paste and lamb stock.  Damn those were good; wish I'd made more of them.  Chicken breast cooked sous vide and added to peppers and onions, stir fried, and some cheddar melted over the whole affair before eating.

Breakfast this week:  Sausage and broccoli stuffed acorn squash.

Lunch today: last night's leftovers - pho inspired eggdrop soup

Tomorrow we're having our first 72-hour sous vide ribs along with braised kale and homemade cornbread (homegrown corn).

Chicken and rice soup! Made with tons of onion and garlic, because I am attempting to blast DH's cold from orbit. Made with instant pot chicken and broth. Also has carrots and celery. Quite yummy, as always. And made plenty for leftovers!

Chicken fiesta soup (with the last package of precooked-probably-turkey from the freezer) with homemade 5-minute microwave cornbread crumbled in.


Well, I was eating that a little while ago. Now it's on to red wine and sugar free chocolates.

Had a brunch craving, but realized what day it was (and that it was snowing and miserable). Stayed in. Made a fresh loaf in the bread machine, which subsequently became french toast with berry compote. Served with candied bacon. Hubs braved the snow to get some fresh-squeezed OJ from the store.

Potato-bacon soup for dinner in a couple hours. I made a huge batch yesterday, so probably be eating off it for several days.

Garlic powder (moderate amount)
Salt
Nutritional Yeast

Steel cut oats with frozen berries and a pinch of stevia. I eat oatmeal almost every morning because it's so cheap and healthy and I can add lots of variety.

Microwaved steel cut oats left over from Sunday. Why didn't I start doing this sooner? They keep/reheat really well.

Alton Brown is great, and I used his oven baked brown rice recipe to make the basis of my lunch bowls this week (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/baked-brown-rice-recipe.html). I just used a covered Corningware dish instead of the tin foil, and olive oil instead of butter.

Today it's pork tenderloin sauteed with cumin & chili powder, corn, tomatillo salsa, brown rice & avocado.

Tacos!  I was obsessing over tacos all day and eventually  remembered that I had leftover lengua in the freezer, so I bought some corn tortillas and limes, making some pot beans in the pressure cooker  and about to fryou those tortillas in lard.

Obsidian Stout on the side.  Yay Friday.

Lunch is "what's in the fridge soup" with a piece of pumpernickel toast.  An apple was the a.m. snack and I have an orange for the p.m. snack.

pinto beans
broccoli
onion
carrot
cabbage
spinach
celery
herbs and spices, salt and pepper, a touch of soy sauce and mustard ( sounds weird but it adds a complexity to the flavor profile)

I am roasting beetroot and carrots.

We are moving countries in about 10 days and so we are on a fridge/cupboard clear out. The meal combinations are getting more and more random. Last night, chicken cooked in a sauce made out of marmalade, soy sauce and BBQ sauce was an unexpected success :) (and moved 2 half empty bottles out of my fridge!)

Pork roast with apple sauce, potato, and caramelized carrot. Tea with milk.

Earlier today: a hunk of blue cheese and a glass of orange juice was THE ONLY food I had during a 9-hour hospo shift.

Fortunately breakfast was a reasonably hearty porridge with banana, and coffee.

Just had a few bowls of kale soup. Used the broth I collected from the last two batches of chicken thighs I simmered (chilled and defatted), added some cooked kale I had in the fridge, a few seasonings and brought it all to a boil.

I'm having leftover bean chilli with rice and then fresh berries with cream. I just realised it is only 10.30, I will have to wait a couple of hours for my lunch.:D
