What April Food's Day Pranks have you played/been played?
« on: April 01, 2015, 08:15:06 AM »
I'll start! I'm aware of 2 pranks played on me thus far.

1. My roommate taped a small baggy with uncooked noodles to the bottom of my toilet seat.
2. My sister changed many of my phone contact's names to Lord of the Rings names. At least one other person is in on it based on messages I received indicating knowledge they could not have otherwise.

I'm planning on telling my roommate that I've discovered I can buy a house this summer. She can't afford the rent on her own, and won't consider getting a roommate whom she doesn't know very well, so if I did buy a house she'd have to move.

This was a looooong time ago before I was born but my mom had a lawyer call my dad at work a few weeks before their wedding saying they were representing someone wanting back child support for a kid that my father did not know about.

He called my mother to tell her and she pretended to act mad for about 30 seconds before laughing telling him APRIL FOOLS.

Could imagine that got his heart rate up.

I wish this was a prank..... I'm a lawyer in a BigLaw firm.  Last week I got an email addressed to my direct boss and "[My Name, Misspelled]" from the partner who will be doing my evaluation.  Today.  By conference call from one of our 20 offices.

Never mind that I work in the main HQ building and there are 5 partners here on the eval committee.  I guess none of them had time .....

I put green food coloring in my 3 year old daughter's milk cup.  When we poured the white milk, it turned green, and she was bamboozled.

I switched cereal bags so when we poured from the cheerios box, out came great grains.

To a 3 year old, this is hilarious.

Speaking of her (and her little sister), they are the wild cards in my early FI plan.  I'd love to pay for their college, but I don't love the idea of having to increase the liquid assets from $750k to $1M.  Still don't know what to do there.

Purchased beautiful paper mache donut in Mexico.  Carefully placed it on plate covered with plastic wrap.  Wrote the Hub's name on a Post it and went to bed.  The Hub staggering around in the early a.m. found it and actually bit it.

Many years ago someone where I was working changed a number of keys around on my keyboard (must have taken him ages)! When I came back, I swapped his keyboard for mine (I think he had gone to lunch). He was not amused - and didn't even realise what had been done (I wasn't going to spend forever swapping keys back).

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
