What's going on with Google/YouTube?? (Opera Web Browser?)

I upload lecture videos for my students, and today, in the Channel/Content tab, the screen goes white, then parts of it go white, then parts of it flash white. I reload and it comes back, then goes white. I scroll and it comes back, then goes white. I move the mouse and it goes white, then comes back, then goes white??? WTF?

I don't notice this in any of my other browser tabs or with any other webpages. I could log in to my acct in Firefox (I use OPERA for some things if you can believe that! Is that my problem??) but that is a PITA.

Is Google trying out some new crap that is driving my Opera Web browser (from ca 1953) to freak out?

Am I nuts for using Opera for anything?

Hmmmm, OK, it seems to be fine in Firefox. I use Opera mostly out of inertia--so many of my logins are saved...

Another thing I can't use Opera for I guess. Maybe time to move on completely.

Try out Vivaldi. It is my go-to browser in Linux and Windows both.

My understanding is that Vivaldi was designed by the Opera people after they sold Opera. It is based on Chromium, same as Chrome.

I worried a little about that b/c I don't like Chinese politics and worried the gov't might be involved.

Thanks. I had been looking at Vivaldi, but your posts pushed me to finally download it and try it out. It takes a little getting used to but seems pretty nice and does not have the very strange screen flicker, whiteout issues that Opera did. Months ago I had to stop using Opera to log into my online banking--it just flat stopped working, but Firefox had no problem. In any case, I like having two different browsers set up for different things--usually one for work stuff and one for personal stuff. Of course, working from home, boundaries get blurred...

I absolutely do the multiple browsers thing for the reasons you described. Years ago I ordered an appliance part on my employer's Amazon account. Oops! I sorted it out but that gave birth to multiple browsers use.

I use Kubuntu (KDE) Linux with multiple desktops. I have a keystroke that allows me to flip back and forth between an endless number of desktops, but I use two.

One desktop is all work. I have Firefox open, my file browser (Dolphin), Teams, LibreOffice, etc.
The other desktop is Vivaldi, a different session of Dolphin accessing my external hard drive, my jukebox program (Clementine), LibreOffice again, etc.

I flip back and forth between the sessions and thus back and forth between browsers. Gives me the means to work and then easily flip back to my music or check my personal stuff without being too cluttered.

I also have a Windows laptop on my desk but only use it for CAD.
