Walgreens Covid shot app proof
« on: August 19, 2021, 12:19:19 PM »
Wondering if anyone had or knew of this issue, web search doesn’t bring anything up and I’m loathe to try and call and sit on a 1-800 number…

I got my first and second Covid vaccines at Walgreens back in March and April. I have the paper card, but hoped to use an electronic version as proof if necessary. I downloaded the Walgreens app, and it shows my correct first shot, and then shows my second shot as in the future on 4/20/21 (my correct appointment).  I went to that appointment and received my shot, but doesn’t seem to have taken somewhere in Walgreen’s system. Any way this is known/common with a resolution, or do I need to call customer service?

lol I had to provide proof today and spent about an hour hunting for my paper card because I forgot where I put it for safekeeping. Mine was through the local health department back in Feb so if I couldn't find it I would have had to call them to figure out my next steps. I had to upload a photo of the card to a website, so I now have the image saved on both my phone and laptop in case the card gets lost again.

Their customer service was surprisingly easy to deal with - they have an online chat who will answer questions about this sort of thing.

I had a problem where the state said they didn't receive the data about my vaccination and Walgreens swore up and down that all the data was correct and it had been submitted. I thought it must be something like a typo somewhere because Walgreens had all this terribly outdated info about me in their computer (7 year old address, etc.). I finally (after much effort) got someone on the phone from the immunization registry and they said Walgreens had never submitted my 2nd dose info at all. Eek. But the customer service chat with Walgreens was pretty quick!

Funny vaccine story:

A few years ago** the big mega hospital where I worked decided that employee health could no longer enter vaccine information in employees' medical records.  There was also no way for employees to see their employee health record online. The workaround was that everyone had to message their provider and self-report when they got their flu shot, etc., and then the provider's MA would enter it in the record. Most people didn't bother, but at the time I had a side hustle* that required proof of immunizations. The medical record was the only thing I could screenshot and give to them, and they were ok with it.

*The side hustle was teaching clinicals at the same hospital, but my employer for that was the university. The university then gave my screenshotted self-reported vaccine record back to the employee health department that gave me my shot, so they could prove I was vaccinated. Talk about efficient.

**It might have been the year that HITECH was passed so I'm sure they just didn't want to run afoul of new privacy standards.

This is what I've been doing as well. Don't want to lose the original card but have a photo of it on my phone.

I have a photo on my phone too, but didn’t know if that would suffice, thought the Walgreens app might be more official. I dunno.

I have the exact same issue. Unsure of how to resolve. Called the 1-800 number, they clueless. Person said they don't deal with app issues.
I have a photo of my vax card on the smartphone.
