My family came from Ireland and Germany maybe 150 years ago. Maybe I should go ahead and self deport to one of those countries just to beat the rush. There is a town in Germany that has my same last name. Surely they would take me.

The current right wing members of the US Supreme court will be remembered by history as the Qislings that facilitated the end of rule of law in the former United States.  I hope they think about that when they lie in bed at night.

As long as Alito gets his theocracy and Thomas's next vacation is paid for, they don't care. They know what they're doing.

Yep.  They were all hired because of their corruption and lack of care about rule of law.  The bug is a feature.

So is the train wreck being caused by Trump/Krasnov directed by Putin, or Trump as Heritage 2025 puppet?  Or a bit of both?

Because every time I think the news out of the US can't get worse, it does.

It goes too deep to be one or the other, it’s an all of the above with some having ties to each to other. Smash and grab for some, collapse of the federal government for others, straight up racism and hatred for some, many have foreign funding behind them to cause this, and no one who actually wants to try to help and do their job seriously except MAYBE Bessent and only because the wealthy ones doing the smash and grab need some economic stability to make it all worth while.

It’s the business plot of the 20s but with 60 years of planning, a compromised political party in power of all branches and a media apparatus spewing out propaganda 24/7, with some connection to foreign entities who just want chaos and collapse across the US.

Nailed it.

Remember he's there to drain that swamp and he only hires the best people... Every accusation is an admission with that bunch.

Not my clever words, I'm just repeating them.

Just watched John Oliver on the Big Beautiful Bill.

Sounds it's about as deadly to poor people as you could have expected.

Is it already through?

It’s on the floor for debate in the Senate the last time I checked.  It is significantly different from the house bill so it will need to be reconciled as well.

Everyone call your senators to tell them to vote against the BBB. In talks as we speak.

YES! Please, people, do this, especially if your senators are Republicans. We only need two more GOP senators to oppose the reconciliation bill for it to fail the upcoming Senate vote, and a handful of them remain truly undecided.

Apparently, what I would call nutcase-evangelicals that are into numerology -- there seem to be a lot of them -- were opposed to Biden's "Build Back Better" bill because the initials (bbb) somehow equate to 666, the number of the Antichrist in the Book of Revelation (I have no idea how, I'm not into numerology or superstition). But Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" (bbb) is fine with them. Avert your gaze from the cognitive dissonance.

Mine are a loss, although I tried to come at the sane one with outrage at hand-waving away $3.8T in increased debt.

Lower case b’s look like sixes.  Lower case is a leftist idea.  Republican bills are upper case only.

Ah! I knew it, there had to be a rational, objective reason for it!

HAHNAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

But silly us, cognitive dissonance is not experienced in the same way by conservatives as it is for anyone else. Theoretical consistency is for liberal eggheads. MAGA means breaking free from the constraints of logic and evidence and creating greatness from pure, distilled rhetoric.
