Every day, when I see swarms of people coming out of the subway stations, it's a hoot to watch women walk like Lurch from the Addams Family because their normal gait is so off balance with those silly shoes.
I think women have to practice to walk normally in heels. That said, sometimes I have this temptation to go really close to someone in heels and give them a little push.
Yes, I had to practice to walk normally in heels, but there were certain styles and heights that just didn't work for me...so I didn't buy them. Now it's standard fare to see people who cannot walk in their own shoes. psst: ladies, we're not sexy when we look like morons.
About a week ago I saw a TV show with two guys dressing up two women. I don't remember the name of the show. Steve and Chris or chris and paul. who knows... Anyway, they gave each of the women money and then helped them shop within those budgets. I haven't been into fashion for a long time, but when did it stop being about fitting the lifestyle of the women? I mean, one of the women actually said "those shoes hurt my feet" and the guy responded "you don't have to stand very long. Just wear them for a few hours and you'll be seated most of that time".
When did we allow this to happen? It was the most idiotic thing I've heard in years (not that I'm immune, I just thought WHOA, I'm not living like that anymore!).
So yes, I do have one pair of really pretty shoes in my closet that I have never worn because they are too high to be comfortable. They are going out in my next yard sale.
