I HAVE BEATEN THE TEST AND FOUND THE ULTIMATE MUSTACHIANS!

Meet Mr. & Mrs. WhiskerMoustache, the ultimate mustachians. Here is a breakdown of their monthly expenses:

FOOD: $5
WATER: $30 (bath and drinking water)
HEATING: NONE
HOUSING: NONE
CLOTHING: NONE
ENTERTAINMENT: Licking themselves clean and cuddling each other.

On TOP of this lifestyle, they also have HUMAN SERVANTS (my parents and I) to give them routine pampering. (Price: Free) Unfortunately I have not found a way to upload my photo of them, but I can give a glimpse of how they look like.

Search up "Cat pictures" on Google Images :P

Yes, but how much slow travel do they do? Seems they are not fully enjoying life, and thus are not truly FIRE.

Also they could be killed in a microwave and secretly disposed of with no consequences.  So maybe they don't have it quite as nice, or have as much freedom, as initially implied.

MetricMouse, they are allowed to spend the night outside (food and water provided), as well they get to HUNT (for FREE, no entry fee) and have optional fights with neighbouring cats. In the morning they have the option of coming in or staying outside (courtesy of servants).

As for FrugalNacho, they are easily frightened by unknown persons and only trust my parents and myself. And my family does not own a microwave :P

Cats should not be outside at night. There are a number of local bylaws around here which preclude cats from being out at night because they eat all the native creatures at night. As well as this, they should get a nice warm (or cool in very hot weather) place to stay at night, so inside is the preferred place.

Six marks deducted for this.

Deborah, first of all, I live in a region of Canada where many people allow their cat(s) to roam outside during the day/night. As well, my family leaves some food and water outside, so my cats do not hunt very often, maybe a single catch every three/four months. During rainy weather they hide behind the barbecue covering and remain dry; in windy weather it also provides protection from windchill. Also, they only stay outside overnight during the spring/summer/fall months, NOT in the winter. Finally, every night around seven o'clock, they run around the house searching for someone to LET them out (they are not forced).

Daily Cat Fact #2: Cats eat grass sometimes when they are having digestion issues.

Seven bonus marks added for this :P

Umm... cats eating wild animals is a BAD thing?  Isn't that like... what they do?  Locking them in a house 24/7 seems unnatural and cruel...

It depends where you live, and whether you like song birds.  For example, outdoor cats are a problem in NZ if you are trying to save the local species of birds and insects and Idontthinktheyaretechnicallylizards.

In Australia and a number of other parts of the globe, cats are a major reason for endangered species, and the decimation of many. I suspect that any endangered species in your area may also be being destroyed by cats (which are, after all the king of predators). I once sat in a car, and watched a cat stalk and kill a bird in less than a minute from start to finish - they really are swift, silent (this cat had a bell) and effective. Why do they love to go out at night? see http://www.ace-eco.org/vol8/iss2/art3/ that they are the number 1 killer of birds in Canada.

There is plenty of time during the day that they can be indulged in the great outdoors.

And Metric Mouse, you, of all creatures, should know that cats are nighttime killers!

A true change of reference. Thank you! I'd never considered cats to be an invasive species; I can see how in some parts of the world this may be true.  Where I'm from they mostly kill invasive, destructive rodents and the occasional distracted bird.  Truly being king of the predators makes as many friends as enemies... :D

Ha!  I remember making these as a fall project when I was in kindergarden.  As I recall I wound up eating most of the peanutbutter and bird seed off my pine cone, much to the annoyance of my german teacher.

Did you try unplugging it?  Or does it have a back-up battery?
