Thinking about proximity to Rainier, you can bike to the north entrance in about 70 miles, perfectly doable for a reasonably fit cyclist. It is crazy to have such beauty within reach, we are truly blessed in the northwest. Well, expect for those pesky wildfires!

You can also have some beautiful veiws in the city of Seattle, even when it is grey and rainy...

Rainbows are amazing! There is a hint of a double rainbow (2nd starting by the corner of the big building on the left).

Weather the next day looked promising

Tomyhoi peaked out in the fog and I had high hopes of making the summit

Unfortunately weather took a turn for the worse and I didn't make the summit of the peak

Winter is in full effect at 7000'

Where we live.  The beach is a ten minute walk from our house!  The last one is the whole town.  It looks pretty big, until you see the baseball field for scale!!  :)

Our one un-mustachian purchase? A helicopter.

It's like a whole different state than the Lower Peninsula. Beautiful everywhere you go, and very underpopulated. I highly suggest Lake of the Clouds in the Keewenaw Peninsula! Pictured Rocks and Tehquaminan Falls are also pretty great, and have lots of hiking trails.

I've been to all of those places, and I highly recommend them.  Lake of the Clouds is in the Porcupine Mountains though.  I need to spend more time in da U.P.!

Not going to embed until I get some feedback from another photo. Here is the past year of hiking in Colorado. The underwater photos were in Cozumel, and the other beach photos were taken in Florida.

It's an amazing place. If you are in the Colorado Springs area (or possibly even Denver/Boulder) when you come here, feel free to PM me. Maybe we'll grill out or something, and I can give you some recommendations or maybe even join you on a hike or bike ride.

Wow! Great pics jordanread! Colorado seems really amazing.

It is, but one of the things I try to challenge people to look at is that there is something amazing no matter where you are. It's just easier here.

Yes, this is very true. Many people want to travel far and wide to see something beautiful when often it is right in our own backyard. Luckily it's not hard to find beauty in the Pacific Northwest either.

We rented out our home in WA state about a year ago and travel full time, but our current location is Ohio. Looking a little dead still, but spring is happening!

Not quite as spectacular as some around, I'll get to that later. Mostly just posting to follow because I just found this thread.

The wine-o'clock view from my (as-yet-unfinished-but-hopefully-will-be-soon) back deck.
