OT: Do not remain nameless to yourself
« on: October 24, 2015, 12:52:34 AM »
A letter Richard Feynman wrote to a former student has some great wisdom on life's meaning:

I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.

Wow... I often forget just how wise that man was. Sorry to necro but this was a hell of a read.

Since we're giving Feynman some love, here's one of my favorite quotes of his:

Let's not give the man TOO much credit.  Everyone has their secrets, and I'm sure Feynman's ex-wives and numerous mistresses would paint a picture containing less compassion or wisdom.

Eh, I'm capable of hat tipping where it is due. If I were only able to to saints I'd never be able to.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.

Regardless of his misdeeds, that doesn't make his words any less true (the opposite of an appeal to authority?).

Well I tried to dig up dirt on that Beavan fellow but couldn't find any, cool if I tip my hat to him?
