Hi all,
I purchased some stamps on ebay in July. The seller is based in Germany. Stamps were sent by registered mail.
Seller is not interested in pursuing this as he got his money. BOA has indicated I will lose a dispute as the item was sent by trackable mail.
As per USPS, it is stuck at customs. I have not received any mail from US Customs indicating why it is held by them. When i called USPS, they asked me to contact customs... and customs redirects me to USPS.
This is what i see on the USPS site :
Registered Mail™
DATE & TIME STATUS OF ITEM LOCATION
August 1, 2013 , 9:55 pm Processed Through Sort Facility ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS)
July 31, 2013 , 11:53 pm Processed Through Sort Facility FRANKFURT/FLUGHAFEN, GERMANY
Do I have any options here? Can i raise a claim with USPS even though I am a receiver and not the sender?

Threaten to give the seller a bad rating, that usually gets them to work for you. If they still aren't helpful, do it.
I would also try pushing harder on customs (e.g ask to speak with managers, tell them very clearly it's their problem according to USPS, etc.). this can be difficult over the phone though.
good luck

So? You never received it. And you don't even know if it is the right item. What if the seller shipped a rock?
I'd pursue disputing the purchase as well as with customs.
You can try USPS, but I'd guess they're the party least able to do anything.
