I have never been to Vancouver, but I was wondering if this cop was too easily identified (by potential attackers) to actually be representative.  The article mentions that the cops were 'staked out' at several specific corners during the ongoing operations.  Maybe the Vancouver thugs are just used to looking for the cameras.

Redundant.

Damn, you beat me to it haha! On a more relevant note, any American who's ever met a decent Canadian will appreciate them for their funny accent, strong beer and love of pancake toppings.

We don't have an accent, you do...several of them, in fact, lol.

A love for pancake toppings?? That's a new one I've never heard before. I don't even think I've ever been to a pancake restaurant in my life.

But you are afraid of the dark and give donuts to strangers, right?

Pancake toppings?  There is only one acceptable pancake topping - pure maple syrup.

Long winter nights => not afraid of the dark, or we would never get out of the house.

Winter nights are long...during the shortest days there are only 8 hours of daylight. But, the flip side is that we get 16 hours of daylight in summer. It's not a bad trade-off.

I know, I got used to it while I was on Vancouver island, and it got dark so early once I was home!  (about 8:30 tonight)

When I was in Vancouver a few weeks ago, this totally messed up my sense of time. It can't be ten at night if it's sunny out!

That's the joke, they literally have a maple leaf on the flag.

Could have sworn I read somewhere that the midwest accent (mine, mostly, with occasional western drawl) is the most neutral, understandable invocation of the English language out there.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
