Happy 3-year Forumversary!
« on: February 14, 2015, 12:30:09 PM »
Hard to believe the MMM forums have been around for three years.  It seems like it was just yesterday that Mrs. MMM launched them.

Shoutout to all the old school members who have been registered since 2012.  :D

It's amazing seeing the progress that so many people have made in the past 3 years in their FI journey, and inspiring to see new people come in all the time and turn around their financial lives.

Thanks for all that each of you do to contribute to such a wonderful forum of high level discussion.
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.

Even though I'm not a huge contributor on the forum, I've followed for over 2 years and can honestly say that MMM and this forum has totally changed my life for the better!

I will be taking 10 years off of my teaching career!  Forget the full pension!

Wow! The time has really flown. Can't believe I've been here since 2/21/12. I've definitely learned a lot!  I would never have predicted how my thinking has changed due to this forum. Rock on!

Wow, I thought it had been around longer?  I guess not!  Well, then I am a forum toddler too - I've been here for a year and a half.

This place has changed my life and my husband's life for the better.  I am planning on retiring at 56 rather than 66.

Similar time involved here.  Re: "Thanks for all that each of you do to contribute to such a wonderful forum of high level discussion," major kudos to those who came first and set the good examples.

I've been here a few months, but it is great to see the community growing.

PS - Crazy to think 2012 is old school ;)

Hard to believe that I've been on this forum for nearly 3 years.  It's certainly changed in that time, but we keep on giving the same advice ;)

That's ok, 12,714/3 years = 4,238 / year. Rebs has you beat. He's posted more every year than anyone else has posted in all 3 years. Nice work rebs. Keeps the conversation lively.

Happy birthday forum!

Wow, three years.  I forget when I found the blog, but I read it for a while before I joined the forum, back in May 2013.  I retired that August, so it was good prep.

Happy Birthday MMM Forum! I've only been involved since April 2014, but have reduced spending to 50% of income, paid off all debt ($10,000), currently saving a cushion, and always finding more ways to cut back even more (while loving life!)... :) big thank you to everyone for inspiration & schooling!

Yay for the forums and thanks to Arebelspy and his band of trusty moderators for providing a safe but not too sanitised environment. Its changed my life.

I registered 11th April 2012, although had been reading earlier. Apparently I've been active on line for 33 days 12 hours and 59mins!!! but I don't regret one second.

Happy birthday forum!  I've learned a lot while here.

I think this is a good spot to post a historic snapshot I took a while back:

I registered Feb 24th, 2012 and I felt like a late-comer at the time.  The forum was already buzzing with activity before I got here.

It was.  Nothing compared to the craziness of today though.  Hundreds of posts/day, tough to keep up with.
