Well it's a nice phrase, but his main point is that systems are better than goals.

I agree.

However I still have goals - my systems get me there.  Systems are better if you were just picking one (it's hard to get to a goal without one, just by aimlessly wandering), but that doesn't mean you have to choose one or the other, and you can't have both.

Scott Adams writes some pretty awesome stuff.  But that throwaway line is not the takeaway from that article, IMO.

Stick to Drawing Comics, Monkey Brain! is killer. Not as goal- and productivity-oriented as the article, but still very entertaining.

Think it comes down more to how realistic you are in writing your goals and keeping up with them.
