I kinda love this thread.
I think it is legitimate to point out areas of potential offense. Using "he" as a default pronoun may not be universally offensive, but it could be considered offensive by some, or even many. Try replacing "he" with "she" in historical texts, or hell, even in everyday language, and when you start to get the squint eyes pointed in your direction, maybe you will see that it isn't about a pair of undies being in a wad. Let's unite undies and be all-inclusive, yes?
