Driving for Lyft/Uber - MMM dream?

What do you guys think about this?  I know you won't make a ton of money but seems like the perfect gig for someone semi-retired :)

"Any mid-size or full-size 4-door vehicle, in excellent condition."  Even if I did get a car in the future I'm not sure Uber would be too happy with it.  An excellent condition 4-door 2001 Corolla isn't exactly their brand image.

The more i researched it the less i liked it. In entrepreneurial terms, they have way too much control of your business.

I think it would be more mustachian if rickshaws were the mode of transportation.

My ex is doing this in order to make the car payments on his car. Lyft has a lot of control over you, if you have phone problems you are screwed (his data has cut out in the middle of rides and such). Plus, as others have said, you have to have a nicer, newer car in order to even drive, which is not very frugal in and of itself.

I think it is something you should look into only if you really love to drive. A lot.

I've known at least one person that has in fact pulled a rickshaw for a living in Canada. This is also apparently a "thing" in a few cities in the US. Equal parts bewildering and awesome to me.
