Usually these show up on Fridays. Should we be worried you're starting your drinking earlier? :)

The beauty of the FIRE life is you can drink on Thursday night or Tuesday morning or any other time you please.

It is Friday and I can't let forummm down.  So, in his honor 'dinner' tonight consists of a handful of triscuits served with authentic French Brie, a slice of toast with roasted pine nut hummus, and another glass of the aforementioned ruby port.

Life is good.

How does Dow's compare to Val Verde? I know it's a ruby vs a tawny so not apples-to-apples...

Dow's is about half the price so apples and oranges for sure.  The Val Verde was excellent with all kinds of subtle complexity.  The Dow's is more a cute little sipping beverage you want to pair with cheese instead of sip alone.

And when you want a bit of variety, the key to good French Onion Soup is red port.  Otherwise it is just beef broth with sauteed onions and cheese.

I have to admit, I still have a sweet tooth - Andres Almond Cream sherry is my favourite for before dinner, and it is best chilled - there is a bottle in my fridge at this moment.  I had an amazing old amber port a few years ago, though, it was something to appreciate and pay attention to.  The LCBO hasn't had it since  :-(

Now I want FOS and Almond Cream sherry for lunch!

As a kid, Dow's Ruby Port was what our local church used for communion, crates of it stacked in the belfry!

Sadly I think they now use Ribena (black current cordial), I'm not convinced this is progress or that Jesus would approve.

At work right now. In the middle of the night. Don't like it.

Still working on the FI.

RE won't be in the picture for a while. Most likely 15 years. At 52. That might intirely exclude the E.

Haha! Is it a bad sign that I know what you thought it was?
