Still drives just fine with minimal maintenance, not quite as pretty as it used to be.

Neither am I. :)

Congrats. I'm of the once and done mindset for vehicles. Don't need to cheap out with a $1000 beater, spend what you want but only if you're sure it's what you want, can pay cash, and barring external factors you'd be happy to keep it forever. It is almost always cheaper (and more environmentally friendly, for the tree huggers here) to just maintain what you have if it fits your requirements. I'm happy to say my newest vehicle is over 30 years old and I intend to keep it as long as I live. My summer transportation, a bike getting nearly 50 MPG even flogging it and having fun, is going on 50 years old. Simple, reliable, cheap to maintain and use, and satisfies my gearhead hobby.

My car is.... wait.... let me do the math... purchased in November 1996.... (97 model)    I guess its older than yours!   I bought a 97 Lexus ES300 when I started my last job because I knew I would be driving to work.   Did that for 10 years and put 165k miles on it.   The next 20k took a lot longer without regular commuting, but it is still being driven regularly.  It's been a good car.

Driving a 99 Lexus SUV with 130k on the odometer.  Hope to get at least another 6 years out of it.  WTG OP!

My car is a 17-year-old Camry. I bought it two years used. It only has 157k miles on it. I hope to keep it for another 100k.

My TR6 is now 40 years old (not that it is the least bit mustacian.)  And I've had it for 32 of those 40 years.  Mileage?  Hell if I know.  The odometer broke back around 1985.

You're the first person that's ever beaten me at this.  I bought a 1993 Shadow, new, and 20 yrs and 3 months later  bought a 2010 Ford Focus. Be careful. Lots of small internal things can go wrong with a car even if it's not driven a lot. Things eve a mechanic wouldn't think to check (and as a non-mechanic i didn;t think of them either). That's what did in my Shadow
But congratz on the Car of the Last Century

Oh there are issues! Her gas mileage rivals that of a Prius, and she has the cutest little engine ever, so I gleefuly overlook all of her groans, squeaks, and the headlight that points to the right instead of on the road. I need to affix that in place better.
I know that someday we will be parted, but I enjoy our time together now.

1997 Mazda Protege.  Not new to me, was actually originally my mom's car, which she sold to my aunt, and then my aunt gave the car to us. Kind of convoluted, but I've been driving this car for about 5.5 years and it has about 154K miles on it. I don't see getting rid of it unless it completely falls apart, but I'm savings towards the purchase of another car just to be prepared.

Next newest car is a 2000 volvo with about 130K miles. Also going to drive that one into the ground.
