That's really annoying! Two weeks ago I burnt my hand making toffee apples and I keep picking at the scab! Plus it's very prominent on my "hand shaking" hand. *aggravation!*

Sorry to hear that!  I burnt my forearm on the oven door last night checking on the pot pie and pumpkin bread!  I iced it immediately and put bacitracin on it...does not hurt, but looks awful!

I had a minor surgery late last week so now I'm dealing with 1) less energy than I'm used to, 2) even more pain than I'm used to, and 3) the shitty mood those two engender.

I've been burned before with skin grafts, etc.

1.)  Be thankful it's such a small spot and doesn't require a stay in the burn unit.  Those places are not cool.

2.)  Because it's your finger, be sure to watch that it doesn't get infected & that it actually heals with thick, good skin.  Fingers/toes have relatively poor circulation and bad enough burns can bring on some bad consequences.  At the same time, use the finger while it heals so the skin heals "stretchy" vs. tight.

I was holding a tapping block to pound some tongue and groove flooring into place, wasn't paying attention for a second and smashed my index finger pretty well with a hammer.  A decent sized chunk of my nail and nail bed came off.  Here's hoping your burn is less irritating than my hand has been for the last couple weeks!

Everyone should have a bottle of Lavender(Lavandula angustifolia) Essential oil in their first aid kit, or in my case the kitchen.

It is amazing for burns - The pioneer or aromatherapy had an explosion in his lab and burned his hand really badly (back when an injury like that would end up killing you) and not having anything else around he stuck his hand in a vat of Lavender and it healed right up with barely a scar. Was also used extensively in te World War battle med kits when drugs were scarce.

Personally, I use it all the time. I'm always grabbing the hot handle of a cast iron pot not thinking first. Also a few weeks ago I was searing a pork roast in some oil and it popped and got onto my face in at least a dozen spots(luckily I had my glasses on) I went to the bathroom, washed and put on Lavender and came right out, no one noticed I had even been burned. No itching, no scarring and it takes the pain away quite quickly. We also have it on hand because hubby tends to get scratches playing with the dog all the time. It is both an antiseptic and analgesic.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
